Euphoria's Handcarved Rubberstamps

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi :)
Hope you are all good and standing tall. Euphoria Craftwork is not resuming operation any time soon. I'm currently looking at other business models that would minimize my carving hours and my use of electrical handheld machines. Future product: Custom-size rubberstamps (machine-produced)

Supplies: Has Arrived!!!

13.5.10
Online buying is such a convenience :).  My rubber blocks arrived from Singapore (Jo posted it last Friday and it arrived today, almost a week).  I have yet to try carving on it.  Sayang pulak nak potong heheh.. I cant find these carving blocks in Malaysia and so far I had to look for big sized erasers (not all rubber textures are suitable for carving... ) so, imported goods means, higher cost.  Also, I bought some buttons from http://tamujajakraf.blogspot.com/ Its for my felt work.  Yes, I carve rubber, cut and sew felt, paint on glasses and I embroider with ribbons.  I need to stop at that at the present.  Ikutkan hati, nak buat crochet, quilling, etc.. tapi... sabar2laaaa kan.. bagi can kat orang lain. haha!

DIY: How to make a box

20.4.10
These are DIY boxes to package my stamps for delivery, materials are recycled from bigger boxes (available from your local stores and sundry shops).  I hope I helped save a bunch of trees already.

Deconstruct the original box and lay it flat on the floor.  Then, apply the above measurement and cut the box accordingly. Also, cut along the dotted white lines.

Fold the flat box sheet according to the lines as guide.
Once you have folded the sheet into a box like the above, secure the sides with a stapler.  It is actually a simple box that will be covered with brown wrappings for postage, so I didnt actually strive to make it neat and presentable on its own.  I just needed sturdy boxes that won't get flattened during the delivery process.

Have a good day!

For a shallow box (kotak yang kurang dalam) , use the measurement below:

How to make a DIY shadow box frame

9.11.09

This is how I make my simple shadow boxframe to put up my mini ribbon embroideries so they won't be flattened in normal frames.

  1. Get a normal flat frame.  I had some that I bought from IKEA.
  2. Find a corrugated box material for base (lets recycle and contribute to preserving trees).  I bought some shelves last time and saved the box.  Measure the inner border of the frame and leave some excess space on the sides.  The wider the excess, the deeper your box will be but make sure the excess is evenly wide on every side ya...
  3. Since I'm making this frame to put up my ribbon embroidery, I stitched the ribbon embroidery (RE) on to the corrugated base and snipped off the excess cloth. If you are putting up a photo instead, you can cut 4 slits at the 4 corners (centre the photo and adjust the slits to the size of photo) to insert the corners of the photos.
  4. Make the inner frame (size is to your preferred width) and make sure the base is painted in the same color. In my case I used a black whiteboard marker because I used a black corrugated paper as the inner frame.  Stitch the inner frame onto the RE and base to ensure it lies flat and not moving about.
  5. Turn the frame on its back (glass intact), insert the base into the inner concave of the frame.  You can paint the base so that you'll have a plain box base ( I was not particularly aware of that last night, so you can see the instruction diagram of the shelf I bought heheh)
  6. Ensure the base is well tucked in.  You can proceed to seal the base to the frame using clear adhesive tape (or any strong medium of choice to ensure the box stays intact with the frame).
  7. Attach the original base (the one with the frame standee) using any method you know and your boxframe is ready.

This is the original base before glued or taped to the shadowbox frame.

side, front, and back.

Good Luck!
