These are my Raya stamp designs so far, available for orders. Price varies by size required. I sketched by hand, using pencil or pen, imitating life, and then edit using applications to make them clearer and tidier.
I was mounting some stamps last night while watching CSI trilogy. The above is my usual setup on the floor (mini saw, wood blocks, PVC sheet and my hands of course). I usually take 1 hour or 2 to saw the wood into sizes (kalau byk stamp to mount, lagi le lama), and then sand them smooth. The sawing of the wood takes time because of the tiny saw blade but I've got no choice... those tiny fine blades give the smoothest result so far. Need to be careful, prolonged handling of the wood while rigorously sawing can lead to the result below:
Yep... this art is not without its hazards.
and I use 2 types of sandpaper, the coarse one and the extra fine one. The coarse one will sand away all splinters and correct the shape of the wood (kadang2 gergaji senget... ) and the extra fine one would produce apple-smooth surfaces (tak caya letak la kat pipi.. heheh)... tapi bila guna kertas pasir ni, anak jari semua jadi macam bengkak after the process. hmm.. kena guna gloves kut.. oh sungguh tak best.
Today, there will be no courier. Nearest date is next week. This weekend will be all about carving because I'll be off to Bandung Thursday next week. So, catch me before that ya!
Have a good day!
