How to price your handmade goods.
Handmade stamps are rarely cheap. The pricing may even be premium to some. Carvers are usually torn between pricing it to convenient the market versus pricing it as how it should be and for profit. Carvers should also be insured as the craft involves sharp blades and carving does present the risk of your fingers being cut. Thats why not many dares to be a carver I think.
For me the costing elements are: Materials (eraser/rubber, ink, paper printout, acetone, wood, sandpaper), Labour Hour (designing, transfering, carving, making handles, packing, delivering), Electricity/Water, Tools Depreciation, Genuinity of designs, degree of complexity (image, text, size), packaging (tapes, stapler, paper, box material, pen), and delivery (mileage, postal).
If I give discounts, they will be based on how my customer has made my work easier, combining orders, special occasion, and lastly if the stamps are done (fulfill customer requirement) but not to my expectation.
